Creation of the IBM Personal Computer Prototype (1980)

IBM’s entry into the personal computer market was a landmark in the tech industry. To compete quickly with emerging PC companies, IBM’s engineers rapidly developed a prototype for their first personal computer, the IBM PC 5150, within a week. This initial version laid the groundwork for the computer's later development, which eventually led to the launch of the IBM PC in 1981 and set the standard for the personal computer market.

The Assembly of the Ford Willow Run B-24 Bomber Plant’s First Production Line (1941)

During World War II, the United States needed a high production rate of military equipment. The Ford Motor Company’s Willow Run plant was constructed to produce B-24 bombers at an unprecedented speed. Within one week of the plant’s assembly line becoming operational, they were producing completed bombers. This rapid setup helped the U.S. reach a production capacity of one bomber per hour, a remarkable feat for wartime manufacturing that greatly contributed to the Allied war effort.
